Hey all,

I have a blog hosted at Tumblr.com and I want it to use my own custom domain name. The instructions over at Tumblr says that I need to change the A-records to an IP address that they have given me. In fact here are the exact instructions.

"Then you'll need to follow the registrar's instructions to point the domain's A-record (IP address) to XX.XX.XXX.X (Note: real IP address actually given)

Please note that you need to change your domain's or sub-domain's A Record, not its nameservers. And, you don't need to forward or redirect anything, you only need to change the A Record.

Once you've done this, you may need to wait up to 72 hours for the change to take effect. If the domain is set up properly, you should see the Tumblr home page when you visit your domain. Almost done!"

I emailed my domain register service and they told me and I quote "A records are set up by your hosting company, not by us (the registry). Your name servers are ns3. and ns4.freebeehosting.com, you will need to contact the company that runs these servers."

So now, I'm contacting you guys. Could anyone help me out and tell me what I need to do. Are A-records the same as Domain Pointers? Because I think I tried that and it didn't work.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Over the past few months I have been trying to teach myself php and I finally finished my first website. However, I did most of the development on my local machine, but when I just got around to uploading it to my freebeehosting account, I noticed a problem. I rely heavily on a lot of date functions that were added in php 5.3 and above such as date_parse_from_format, date_diff, etc, but my account is on server 6 which seems to be running php 5.2.10. So, my question is, are there other similar functions that I can use instead of these? Or is there some way to either use php 5.3 from server 6 or move my account to server 7?

Thanks for any help!
